Reflexology is a therapy that has been practised for thousands of years; the first record of reflexology is in the hieroglyhics of Ancient Egypt.
Reflexologists believe that the entire body and its organs can be related to specific areas of the foot. It involves the application of gentle thumb or finger pressure to all areas of both feet, in a sequential manner, so that the entire body is treated. It is thought that reflexology may have its effect through stimulation of nerve receptors in the feet, in turn sending nerve impulses back via the spinal cord to all organs and systems of the body.
Reflexology promotes the natural self-healing capacity that each and every one of us possess.
It enables you to attain well-being on all levels - your body physical, your mind emotional and the essence of you spiritual
Reflexology can help you help yourself. A wide range of both acute and chronic conditions may respond to a course of reflexology sessions. Such conditions include:
Migraine
Feminine health issues, such as premenstrual syndrome, menopause
Disturbed sleep
High blood pressure
Depression and anxiety
Back pain
Asthma
Infertility
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Conditions triggered, or made worse, by stress
.....amongst others!
The great thing about reflexology is that it is a totally natural therapy, using your in-built capacity to heal yourself. It has no upper or lower age limits, with all ages responding well to its benefits.
You don't have to be unwell to experience the benefits of reflexology as it can be used alongside a healthy lifestyle to help stay that way.
We all owe it to ourselves to take responsibility for our own health as far as it is possible - if we don't do it, no one else will do it for us.
Home vists are available for reflexology sessions (female clients only).
